Indian wicketkeeper Sanju Samson pulled off a sensational low catch to dismiss Fakhar Zaman during the Asia Cup 2025 Super Four clash on September 21 in Dubai. Skipper Suryakumar Yadav had opted to bowl first after winning the toss, setting the tone for yet another high-pressure India vs Pakistan encounter.

The dismissal unfolded in the second over when Hardik Pandya, who has a stellar record against Pakistan, rolled his fingers across the seam to deliver a clever off-cutter. Fakhar Zaman, looking in good touch, nicked the ball and it stayed low on its way to the wicketkeeper. Samson displayed sharp reflexes and immaculate glove work, keeping his hands just above the turf to complete the grab.

The on-field umpires referred the decision upstairs, sparking brief drama. After multiple replays and a zoomed-in angle, the third umpire confirmed the catch was clean. As the decision flashed on the giant screen, Zaman walked off visibly disappointed, while Pakistan’s head coach Mike Hesson expressed his displeasure, hinting that the ruling could have been more thorough.

Before his dismissal, Zaman had given Pakistan a brisk start, hammering 15 off just nine deliveries, including back-to-back boundaries that energized the crowd. His aggressive intent, however, was cut short by Pandya, who continues to be a nemesis for Pakistan. In fact, the all-rounder has now taken 15 wickets in just eight T20Is against the arch-rivals, the most by any bowler in this fixture.
