“Diwali ho ya Holi, Anushka loves Kohli,” echoed the fans as Virat Kohli fielded in the deep. Upon hearing the chants, Kohli acknowledged the crowd by raising his hand in appreciation before resuming his fielding duties.

While Kohli’s form has raised concerns, India’s cricketing legend Sunil Gavaskar has expressed confidence that there’s no need to worry about Kohli’s batting prowess. Gavaskar emphasized the importance of patience during such phases, highlighting Kohli’s track record and the team’s future prospects in the tournament.

“The biggest motivation for any player is to contribute to winning matches, especially for your country. Kohli has been a stalwart for India, winning numerous games over the years, and he recognizes this,” Sunil Gavaskar shared with Star Sports.

“As we are still in the early stages of the tournament with Super 8s, semi-finals, and hopefully the final to come, Kohli needs to maintain faith in his abilities, which he possesses in abundance,” Gavaskar added.

“When a player like Kohli registers three low scores, it doesn’t necessarily indicate poor form. Sometimes, it’s a matter of facing exceptional deliveries. On any other day, those balls might have found the boundary, but cricket can be unpredictable,” Sunil Gavaskar continued. “There’s no cause for alarm; we must continue to support him and trust that he will bounce back, sooner rather than later.”

Gavaskar’s reassurance underscores the belief in Kohli’s resilience and capability to overcome this challenging phase, setting the stage for potential redemption as the tournament progresses.
