After the first Test of the ongoing four-match Test series at Adelaide Oval (Adelaide), Pant’s continuous chattering behind the stumps was a popular discussion topic. Some experts have enjoyed it while some of the others have criticised it.

However, nothing has changed in the second Test of the series at the new Perth Stadium as the 21-year-old has continued his chattering behind the stumps. But on day one, the young wicketkeeper missed a crucial catch when the hosts Australia was under pressure.

It was the 67th over while Australia was batting on 186/4. The left-handed batsman Shaun Marsh was batting on 24 runs at that time and he was facing the off-spinner Hanuma Vihari. On the second ball of that over, his cut shot found an edge and but the close-in keeper Pant failed to grab that ball properly and dropped it.

Pant has faced a huge criticism after failing to grab that good opportunity. That partnership was stretched for more 46 runs before Vihari finally dismissed Marsh for 45 runs. Though Pant worked very hard on the day as a wicketkeeper, the fans can’t forgive him to drop that crucial opportunity, who also remained very talkative on the day.

Coming to the day one of the Perth Test, Australia was once struggling on 148/4. After their openers Marcus Harris and Aaron Finch had a 112-run partnership, the Indian bowlers made a brilliant comeback by taking wickets in very quick times.

Later, Shaun Marsh and Travis Head took the crucial responsibilities to recover the hosts’ from that difficult situation as they had an important 84-run partnership for the fifth wicket. However, both lost their wickets at the last period of the day as Australia finished the day on 277/6.
