The India Cricket Team has received both good and bad news regarding the fitness of their players. Shreyas Iyer is showing signs of recovery, while KL Rahul is facing obstacles in his rehabilitation. Currently, it appears that Shreyas may be available for the Asia Cup 2023, but the chances of KL Rahul being fit for the tournament are uncertain, with a decision to be made at a later date. However, Iyer’s participation in the IND vs IRE T20 series is in doubt, despite his recent return to batting practice.

On the other hand, it has been confirmed that Jasprit Bumrah will make a comeback during the Ireland series. Shreyas Iyer, the middle-order batsman, has started batting sessions at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru. Although he experienced a setback due to back pain during his recovery, he is now back on track. However, he will not be able to participate in the IND vs IRE T20 series.

Nevertheless, Iyer remains hopeful of regaining full fitness in time for the Asia Cup, which is scheduled to commence on August 31. With the upcoming World Cup 2023 as a priority, the BCCI medical team will take precautions and not rush his return. In contrast, KL Rahul’s injury struggles continue. Despite his immense talent, he has been plagued by injuries once again.

Following surgery for a thigh injury, he encountered a roadblock in his recovery. With only 45 days left until the Asia Cup, Rahul has yet to commence batting practice, causing concern for the BCCI. He will certainly miss the Ireland series, and his availability for the Asia Cup will depend on the progress of his recovery in the coming month.

However, there is positive news concerning Jasprit Bumrah. The key pace bowler is on the path to recovery and has begun bowling at full intensity during practice sessions at the National Cricket Academy. He is expected to feature in the Ireland series to gradually increase his bowling workload in ODIs.
