Sports persons are known to be obsessed with records and landmarks. No matter how much you talk about playing for your country or playing for your team, it is the natural human tendency to think about your own landmarks and achieve individual feats.

There are frequent discussions on how a players’ performance differs with the change in formats. Different sections of people might have a different view on this, but, it does require a variant approach for various formats of the game.

As a result of which, the modern contemporary game has seen the establishment of ‘specialists’, i.e., different players for different formats. And perhaps, it is the reality. It is not easy for a batsman to dominate all the three formats of the game.
