Considering the history of IPL, it seems that in most of the intense games, veteran players have little chance to play. The heroes who once have helped their respective teams to clinch the title were left out in the following season.
Most of the franchises don’t look to buy old players, they rather prefer buying young and fit players. Due to this policy of IPL teams, most of the fans have forgotten the past heroes of IPL. Now, we will remember those match-winners of the early seasons of IPL.
1. Paul Valthaty
Valthaty came into the spotlight when he smashed a match-winning hundred for Kings XI Punjab against Chennai Super Kings in 2011. He was a crucial cog for KXIP till 2012 when he use to open the innings. He was considered to be as a great opener as his sudden rush in top level cricket took everybody by surprise. He was one of the few IPL all-rounders hoc took 4 wickets and scored a half-century in the same match. Unfortunately, since 2012, he hasn’t been picked by any IPL franchise. In his IPL career, he managed to score as much as 505 runs in 23 matches at an average of 23 which also includes a swashbuckling century and a couple of the fifties as well.
