Team India registered a comfortable win over Bangladesh in the T20 World Cup 2024. The Super 8 match at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua and Barbuda on Saturday. While the batting unit contributed well, it was India vice-captain Hardik Pandya who stole the show with a magnificent half-century.
Hardik Pandya came to bat when India was struggling in the middle and lost a few wickets, reeling at 108/4. He stood tall and made sure that he stayed there till the end and helped India post a decent total as well. Hardik assessed the conditions well and once he set his eyes on, he took on the Bangladesh bowlers and hit all over the park. He along with Shivam Dube (34) stitched a crucial 53-run partnership as they scored quickly.
After Dube got out, Hardik smacked a blistering half-century and remained unbeaten on 50 runs off 27 balls. He had a strike rate of over 185 and also hit 4 fours and 3 sixes. His knock took India to a total of 196 runs on the board after 20 overs as well. He also became the 1st ever No.6 batter to score a fifty for India in the T20 World Cup.
