Skipper of Kolkata Knight Riders, Gautam Gambhir, is in such a fine form that he is trying other sports than cricket on the cricket field itself.
On the second last delivery of the 10th over being bowled by Corey Anderson, Gambhir played a tennis-like smash to hit the ball for a boundary. Gambhir ended up scoring 71* (52) with the help of 11 boundaries. He once again remained not out to steer his team through a successful chase.
In what was Gambhir’s 35th half-century, he now has most number of half-centuries in the Indian Premier League. He has also become the third Indian batsman after Suresh Raina, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma to scoree 6,000 runs in T20 cricket. The southpaw has also surpassed MS Dhoni as having the most number of IPL runs as captain. He also has most 50+ scores (19) during chases in the IPL.
