Sourav Ganguly is remembered as one of the best batsmen that ODI cricket has ever produced. When it came to facing spinners and predominantly the ones who bowled left-arm, Ganguly’s prowess would increase automatically.

One such incident game during the eight match of the TVS Cup in 2003 at Bengaluru when Ganguly was critical against Michael Clarke. Having won the seventh match of the tournament against New Zealand by 44 runs at Guwahati, Ricky Ponting, the then Australian captain, won the toss and elected to bat.

Both Adam Gilchrist (111) and Ponting (108*) scored individual centuries as Australia posted 347-2 in 50 overs. With bowling figures of 9-0-60-1, Anil Kumble was the pick of the bowlers for India.

Ganguly, who came in to bat at No. 4 in the 26th over, was fierce on Clarke right from the word go. Clarke bowling full tosses at the Indian captain didn’t help his case either. Ganguly ended up scoring 37 (31) with the help of four fours and a six. Watch the full video:
