Many foreign cricketers have chosen to leave the country they were born in to represent other countries, either because they were born in that country, because of their attraction to countries already successful in the field of cricket, or for a better life. The cricketers have often shown the will to settle in the country they represent permanently.

The list includes some stalwarts like Kevin Pietersen, Jason Roy, Colin de Grandhomme, Moeen Ali, Rashid Khan, Ben Stokes, and Usman Khawaja. Gary Ballance is also one of them, but now he reportedly wants to cut all ties with England and return home to represent his country Zimbabwe in international cricket.

Gary Ballance has also reportedly tried to hand over his paperwork regarding England to Zimbabwe transfer to the ICC. He took this decision just months before England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) alleged his alleged involvement in the Yorkshire racism scandal.

One of the latest reports of SportsMail regarding Gary Ballance said, “Gary Ballance could show England the back with a bang at the international level for Zimbabwe. Earlier this year the paperwork was submitted to the International Cricket Council (ICC) after changing nationality from England to the South-East African nation. The action came just months before the ECB dragged the balance in the Yorkshire racism scandal in June. However, this paperwork was not submitted by Balance.”

One thing that needs to take into consideration is that Gary Balance was born and raised in Zimbabwe, and he also played five matches for his national team at Under-19 level. But in the year 2006, for a better future in the field of cricket, Balance moved to England at the age of 16 and then made his international career there. He played 23 Tests and 16 ODIs for England from September 2013 to July 2017.
