Gujarat Titans’ (GT) mentor Gary Kirsten on Sunday was seen showering praises at the veteran Indian wicket-keeper batter, Wriddhiman Saha, stating that he was very impressed with how the latter had approached his game in the current edition of the Indian Premier League. Wriddhiman Saha’s 67 off 57 balls while opening the innings, set up a big win for the Titans, who now have confirmed their place in the top two in the group stage and are set to play Qualifier 1 scheduled on 24 May.

Like many players with the lack of power hitting ability in the T20 format have done, Saha maximized the power play against Chennai, helping GT put up 53 runs.

Elaborating the same, Gary Kirsten said, “He understands his game and plays really well in the power-play. For us, he was always an important asset to have when we needed him and he has come in and done really well. I don’t think there is any specific (thing) that we need to say to him (Saha) because he knows how to play the power-play really well. The most important thing is guys (players) play to their strengths and abilities. He is a great player of the short ball.”
