Indian experienced opening batsman Gautam Gambhir believes India can easily level the ongoing away Test series against the hosts England if their batsmen perform well in remaining matches. The left-handed opening batsman has also praised the Indian bowlers who have dominated in this Test series.
In the ongoing five-match Test series, England won the first two games but India has made a brilliant comeback by winning the third Test at Trent Bridge by 203 runs. The bowlers did the superb job and led the Indian side for a crucial victory in the third Test while the batsmen finally showed their calibre in the Test series after some disappointing performances.
While the 36-year-old opening batsman has praised the Indian bowlers, he feels Jasprit Bumrah’s returning from the injury has made it deadly bowling side.
According to TOI, Gambhir said, “England would be wary of the Indian bowling attack. Their batters haven’t put runs on the board and the middle order looks vulnerable.
“Bumrah’s comeback makes the Indian bowling line-up looks deadly. It is about Indian batsmen putting runs on the board. In the third Test, the batters put 300 runs in both the innings and the results were there for all to see. The bowlers have done a fantastic job in the last three Test matches and I’m sure they are going to continue the same.”
Gambhir is very optimistic on Indian cricket team for the ongoing Test series as he believes India can easily level the series if they perform to their potential.
Gambhir said, “England lead in the series 2-1 but India carrying the momentum from the last Test match to this Test match its going to be a very exciting clash. I think India carries the momentum and if they can play to their potential they can easily make the series 2-2.”
