Recently, the three-member cricket committee that comprises of Virender Sehwag, Akash Chopra and Rahul Sanghvi, have decided to retain the former Indian all-rounder Manoj Prabhakar as the bowling coach of Delhi cricket team. During his recent tenure, Delhi finished as the runners-up in the last Ranji Trophy season (2017/18).

However, the management has decided to not go with that decision. According to some reports, Gautam Gambhir, who will lead the Delhi side in the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy, has opposed that decision as Prabhakar had been named in the 2000 match-fixing scandal.

Soon, all the three members of the cricket committee have resigned from their post. Later, Gambhir took his official Twitter account to clarify that he had no role on their resignations.

Meanwhile, Virender Sehwag has also opened up about the cricket committee members’ resignations by pointing out their busy schedules.

Sehwag said, “We had come together and given time and effort with the idea of contributing and helping in the improvement of Delhi cricket within the framework of our role as a cricket committee. However, looking at the best interest of Delhi Cricket, we would like to inform you that all three of us would not be able to continue with the assignment of Cricket Committee of DDCA any further due to our busy schedule in day to day life.”
