Gautam Gambhir, the mentor of KKR, has made it clear that results matter most to him, prioritizing victories over the process. His stance underscores the team’s commitment to achieving success and aligns with the fans’ expectations of seeing KKR emerge victorious. Under Gambhir’s mentorship, Kolkata Knight Riders have embraced a fresh approach to cricket, evident in their gameplay and a notable transformation in the team’s dynamics.
In a recent discussion on the Knights Dugout podcast, Gambhir candidly expressed his belief in the importance of results, a sentiment reflected in KKR’s strong performance this season. With 4 wins in 6 matches and only 2 losses, Gambhir’s emphasis on results resonates with the team’s success on the field.
“I say it very openly that results do matter to me. I don’t believe in this word called ‘Process’ & ‘Do the process right, results will take care of their own’. For me, results matter, because people come to watch KKR win,” Gautam Gambhir stated in the podcast.

Currently placed in the 2nd spot on the points table, KKR is eyeing a playoff berth after missing out in the last two seasons. Despite a nail-biting 2-wicket loss to RR, Gambhir’s team is determined to bounce back and is gearing up to face one of their favourite opponents, RCB, in an exciting encounter at the Eden Gardens Stadium on April 21, Sunday.
Gautam Gambhir also praised the loyal fan base of KKR, considering them one of the most devoted fan bases in the country. He commended the fans’ unwavering support for the team, even during the early years when the team’s performance was average.
“I genuinely and from the bottom of my heart feel that KKR has the most loyal fan base in the entire country. The reason is because, see the history of KKR, the fans have gone through a lot in the first 3 years and then the way they stuck with the team in their thick and thin shows the kind of passion they have,” Gautam Gambhir said.
