This time Gambhir went to compare two legendary batters, AB de Villiers and Suresh Raina, regarding their immense contribution both in the IPL and International cricket.

However, for the uninitiated, the comparison was drawn in terms of the IPL performances and their impact on the team. As per Gambhir, Chennai Super Kings’ Raina has been a better player and performer than his RCB counterpart. Besides, the former cricketer, who himself led a franchise in IPL emphasized the fact that Raina has won 4 IPL trophies while de Villiers could never get to lift the title even once.

Additionally, Gautam Gambhir went on to mention that it seemed that AB de Villiers only achieved personal milestones rather than playing for the team’s cause. Hence, the southpaw’s impact and stature are more recognized than De Villiers’s.

Albeit, it is worth mentioning that the fans are divided about Gambhir’s opinion. Some fans chimed in support of the former Indian opener’s comments while some chose to troll him. Speaking of de Villiers’ records in the IPL, Mr. 360 has played in 184 matches, whereby, he amassed 5162 runs with a decent average of 39.71. During his journey in IPL, he managed to smash 3 centuries and 40 fifties, while representing the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) and Royal Challengers Bangalore between 2008 and 2021.
