Former Kolkata Night Riders captain, Gautam Gambhir, who also played some memorable knocks for India in World Cups reckons that the West Indies spinner Sunil Narine could trouble batsmen in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 with his new tweaked bowling action.

Gautam Gambhir was immensely successful as the captain of the KKR while playing the cash-rich league and Sunil Narine played a crucial role in his squad as the latter had established himself as an important member for KKR during their successful run in the T20 tournament.

Narine has been playing a crucial role for Trinbago Knight Riders in the ongoing season of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) which his new action as the franchise is enjoying a purple catch.

During a show in Star Sports, Gautam Gambhir said, “For me, the most important thing is that when Sunil Narine is hiding the ball during his run-up, it will increase the difficulties for the batsmen. It will be difficult to find which ball will go away and which ball will come in. Because the later you see the ball in the hand, the more difficult it is for the batsmen. If Sunil Narine gets a little grip from the UAE wickets, he will be very effective.”

Gambhir said that Afghanistan’s Rashid Khan is successful because of his pace and similarly Narine had done a phenomenal job when he used to bowl a bit quicker.

Gautam Gambhir explained, “The pace at which Sunil Narine is bowling, Rashid Khan is so successful because of his pace and Sunil Narine has been successful when he has bowled quicker, it is a new thing we have seen and this might make him very successful in the IPL.”
