According to sources, Shubman Gill is currently the front-runner to take over the Test captaincy, while wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant is likely to be named his deputy. With Jasprit Bumrah reportedly stepping away from leadership responsibilities, Gill’s consistent growth and calm demeanor have impressed the selectors.
