As the powerplay concluded, GT struggled to find momentum, amassing only 42 runs. Glenn Maxwell, returning to the lineup, made an immediate impact, claiming the crucial wicket of GT’s skipper Shubman Gill, who managed 16 runs off 19 balls. However, the highlight of the match came from Cameron Green’s exceptional fielding. Positioned at long-on, he executed a remarkable catch to dismiss Gill, showcasing incredible agility and timing. The catch marked a turning point in the game, with GT losing their second wicket at 45 runs in the seventh over.

Despite the setback, GT’s Shahrukh Khan shone with the bat, delivering a stellar performance. Promoted up the order, he achieved his maiden IPL century off just 24 deliveries. Teaming up with Sai Sudharsan, the duo added 86 runs for the third wicket, infusing momentum into GT’s innings.
