Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) newly recruit all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has said that he is loving the experience at his new team in the Indian Premier League. He also gave credit to the support from his new team management and his teammates as well. However, Maxwell has returned in his destructive zone with the Bengaluru-based franchise, where he has already smashed a couple of match-winning knocks as well.
Glenn Maxwell also said that he feels at home at RCB camp from the beginning after having moved from Punjab Kings (PBKS). However, Glenn Maxwell was released by Punjab after having a poor season in the UAE last year where he managed 108 runs in 13 matches as well. And, this season, he has already scored 176 runs in just 3 matches, including 2 match-winning fifties for RCB as well. RCB bought Maxwell at a whopping price of Rs 14.25 crore in the mini-auction prior to the IPL 2021.
“I felt like I have been right at home since day one, the coaching staff have been extremely supportive so have the players, it has been great fun so far,” Maxwell told RCB prior to their match against Rajasthan Royals in Mumbai on April 22. “The conditions are a bit different here at the Wankhede. There have been some high scores scored here, so for our batting group, it is going to be exciting if we can get going and continue to add to those high totals.”

Glenn Maxwell further added: “It is just about taking one of the responsibilities of Virat’s shoulders. He has got a lot of things to do out there, to sort of control what fielders need to be at what positions is one thing he does not have to worry about.”

Meanwhile, after their last win against KKR. AB de Villiers said: “I had a lot of fun out there. It helped with Maxi playing well up front and it made it really easy and gave the guys confidence that it’s not unplayable. It’s difficult when you come into games like these where the wicket tends to be a bit slow, you gotta break the shackles individually which some of our players did tonight. It was definitely a better wicket, probably not a 200 wicket.
I surprise myself sometimes and you just gotta go out there and give out your best, the most important thing is I enjoy myself and I love playing cricket and I love playing for this team, they are my family over the years and a lot of reasons for me to be happy to really enjoy my cricket. You take it one game at a time and you’re only as good as your last game.”
