Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has heaped high praise on India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah, calling him the best all-format bowler he’s ever faced and possibly the greatest of all time. Bumrah, currently ranked No. 1 in the ICC Test rankings, has consistently dominated across formats, showcasing his brilliance in the recent ODI World Cup and excelling throughout the Test series against South Africa, England, and Bangladesh this year.
His standout performance in the 2024 T20 World Cup, held in the West Indies and USA, saw him take 15 wickets in eight matches, earning him the Player of the Tournament award. Glenn Maxwell, named in Australia’s T20I squad for the upcoming series against Pakistan, expressed his admiration in a recent ESPNcricinfo video.
“The best bowler I’ve ever faced is probably Bumrah. I think he’s going to go down as the best all-format bowler of all time,” Glenn Maxwell stated, highlighting Bumrah’s unique skill set.

Glenn Maxwell elaborated on the qualities that make Bumrah such a formidable opponent, emphasizing his deadly yorkers, deceptive slower ball, and ability to swing the ball both ways.
“His release point is so far out in front that it feels like he can change his line at the last moment. With his slow ball, precise yorker, and ability to move the ball in either direction, Bumrah has everything a top-tier fast bowler needs,” Glenn Maxwell added, underscoring Bumrah’s technical prowess and versatility.
Since his international debut on January 23, 2016, against Australia, Bumrah has amassed impressive stats, with 173 wickets in 40 Tests, 149 in ODIs, and 89 in T20Is. As he gears up to lead India’s attack in the upcoming five-Test Border-Gavaskar series against Australia, Bumrah’s track record in Australia also adds weight to his reputation.
