Royal Challengers Bangalore registered their sixth win of the IPL 2023 by beating Sunrisers Hyderabad by eight wickets on Thursday at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium as well. This win was really important for RCB going into the competition as their chances for qualification for the playoffs would have taken a back seat if they hadn’t won against SRH as well. However, Kohli scored 100 from 63 balls and Faf du Plessis also hit 71. The duo added a fantastic 172-run partnership for the first wicket as well.

After the game, Maxwell said about the duo’s partnership, “Brilliant, that was very good. We are trying to stay calm, relaxed, just another day. Got 6 of these things so, 150-partnership, no biggie. It’s just what they do, we are not surprised, they just need to keep doing it.”

A video posted by RCB’s official Twitter account captioned, “SRH v RCB Dressing Room Reactions. A century for the ages, a partnership for the record books, and a victory that takes us to Top 4 in the points table. A Happy Dressing Room but subdued celebrations as the team realises there’s a job in hand.”

Glenn Maxwell said after the game as quoted by Cricbuzz: “It’s been a long time on the road for us, we knew we had to be in the position of striking distance. The last two games have really perked up the squad. We feel we are peaking at the right time. It was sensational, even some of the shots through the covers off the back foot shows the form he is in at the moment. He was really hard to bowl to, the spinners and pacers if they were short, he punished them, hats off to him [on Klaasen]. Siraj all his four overs – I think he went for under 20 with not all assistance from the wicket and Parnell as well.

We were one seamer short on that pitch and it did not spin that much in the first innings. When those guys are chasing, they know exactly what to do. They are such good players; the left-arm spin was from one end and they knew what to do from the other end. They cashed in when they got some pace on the ball. It will be nice to go back to our home fans, we had 5 games there and the crowd were roaring. It will be nice to take on the table-toppers with our players purring.”
