The dismissal unfolded on the first ball of the 17th over of Brisbane’s innings. England spinner Dan Lawrence delivered a flighted ball in the slot, tempting left-handed Prestwidge to attempt a massive hit over long-on. Maxwell, stationed at the boundary, sprinted to his right with unwavering focus on the ball.

As the shot seemed destined for a six, Glenn Maxwell leapt over the boundary line and caught the ball with one hand. In mid-air, he tossed it back into play before landing outside the boundary. Displaying remarkable agility, he dashed back into the field and completed the catch with both hands, leaving spectators and commentators in awe.

Prestwidge, who had managed just four runs off nine balls, was aiming to break the shackles with the big hit. However, Maxwell’s brilliance ensured his dismissal, preventing what could have been a crucial six.

Brisbane Heat, after a shaky start at 39/4 in the eighth over, managed to post a competitive total of 149/7. Their innings was anchored by Max Bryant, who played an unbeaten knock of 77 off 48 balls, providing much-needed stability.

In response, Melbourne Stars found themselves struggling at 14/3 in the fourth over. However, a remarkable 132-run stand between Marcus Stoinis and Dan Lawrence turned the game in the Stars’ favor. Stoinis scored a solid 62 before falling, while Lawrence remained unbeaten to guide the team home with Hilton Cartwright, securing a five-wicket victory with 11 balls to spare. Maxwell’s fielding heroics and the Stars’ batting recovery sealed a memorable win.
