Sai Sudharsan has been painting a picture of consistency in IPL 2025, and former India opener Aakash Chopra believes it’s time the cricketing world stood up and took notice. The Gujarat Titans southpaw smashed a majestic 82 off 53 balls against Rajasthan Royals, a knock filled with eight sweetly timed boundaries and three towering sixes, steering his team to a commanding total of 217.

But this wasn’t just another good innings — it was Sudharsan’s fifth consecutive half-century at a single venue, a rare feat that has him rubbing shoulders with the legendary AB de Villiers. Among those five, one includes a brilliant century against CSK last season. Whether it’s anchoring an innings with composure or shifting gears to attack, Sudharsan has shown maturity well beyond his years.

In a video on his YouTube channel, Aakash Chopra heaped praise on the 23-year-old, calling him “absolutely sensational” and a player with the class and temperament for red-ball cricket. “He’s elegant, technically compact, and bats so cleanly,” said Chopra. “He doesn’t look like a player forcing innovation, yet he can play all around the ground without appearing flashy.”

With 273 runs in five games, Sudharsan currently sits second in the Orange Cap race. Chopra’s admiration extended beyond T20s, suggesting the youngster is destined for bigger things — including a potential call-up to the Indian Test team. “He’s gold dust,” Chopra remarked. “And he’s making 360-degree batting look natural. One day, I hope to see him don the whites for India.”
