The young Delhi Capitals (DC) opener, Prithvi Shaw has been playing a crucial role for the franchise since 2019. However, he has been quite inconsistent in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 still he has managed to score a couple of half-centuries to his name. The young Indian protege has been known for great temperament and a back lift which is often compared to Brian Lara. Recently, former English spinner Graeme Swann was also full of praises for Shaw and the Delhi-based franchise.

Graeme Swann explained, “There are a couple of things. Shreyas Iyer is a very very good leader. Ricky Ponting, I saw him smile after a game that he never did when he played against England. Prithvi Shaw, as well. I love the way he bats, he is like a baby Sehwag, he is like a miniature version of Virender Sehwag, who was one of my favorite Indian players of all time.

He further added, “I think all in all, they have got a very strong team and they are playing with a lot of confidence. I think they look like the team to beat at the moment.”

Coming from Mumbai, opener Shaw, hogged the limelight early in his career. He was the captain of his school team and the Mumbai U-16 team. Shaw achieved the feat of scoring the most runs in an organized tournament since 1901 by scoring 564 runs in a Harris Shield elite division match.
