The Indian left-arm spinner, Axar Patel played a crucial role in the 10-wicket win over England in Ahmedabad Test as he called 11 wickets in the Pink-ball Test. However, former England spinner Graeme Swann joked ahead of the fourth Test that the bowler had already done enough in this series and that the Indian team should give him a week-long break.

Swann also of the opinion that he is a big fan of Ravindra Jadeja and since the England spinners have not been able to match their Indian counterpart, Jadeja should perhaps play for the visitors.

Talking about the same during a chat with Sunil Gavaskar on Start Sports, Graeme Swann said, “I am a huge fan of Jadeja. Seeing how well Axar Patel has done, I think he should go on leave for a week and Jadeja can either come and play for England or can play for India because I think Axar Patel has done enough, for now, we have seen enough of him, haven’t we.”

Axar Patel, who made his debut in the second Test in Chennai has had a great start to his Test career after he followed a five-wicket haul in his debut match with two more successive ones in the two innings in the Pink-ball Test at Ahmedabad. He added yet another feather to his cap at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad as he became the first bowler in history to take 11 wickets in a Day-night Test match.

The left-arm spinner now has the best bowling figures in a Day-night Test with 11 for 70 against England. Australian pacer Pat Cummins (10 for 62) had the previous best figures against Sri Lanka in Brisbane in 2019-20.
