Graeme Swann Names This Indian As The Best Ever Batsman

Many cricketers have also been proactive on their social media in the past few weeks due to the lockdown. In a podcast organized by Sky Sports former England cricketer, Graeme Swann named Rahul Dravid as the best batsman he bowled to in his career.

Graeme Swann recalled a match where Rahul Dravid played his usual game and did not get out. Swann recollects how Dravid made him feel like an 11-year-old kid.

“Rahul Dravid was a big one for me. I bowled against him in Kent, and he was unbelievable. I have never seen a better player in my life. He would never get out in a county game, and that’s Rahul Dravid, one of the best in the world, and he made me feel like an 11-year-old spinner,” Swann said.

Most commonly remembered as ‘The Wall’, Rahul Dravid has scored 13,265 runs at an average of over 52 for the Indian team In 163 Test matches. The former off-spinner also remembers the instance where he got the prized scalp of Dravid once.

“I got him out, admittedly it was a great ball, but it would not have got Rahul Dravid out usually,” the former Nottinghamshire player added.

Recently, Graeme Swann admitted how he and Pietersen ‘openly disliked each other’. However, he also mentioned that when it came to playing for England, both kept their personal differences aside and made sure that their national team reached the pinnacle in Test rankings.

“We are a team that got to number one in the world, and in a team, there are always going to be individuals. Ninety-nine percent of that side were all in it for the team,” the former off-spinner said.
