Gulbadin Naib Chooses Between Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma For A Last-Over Chase

Gulbadin Naib has been an important member for Dubai Capitals in the ongoing DP World ILT20 2025. Gulbadin has scored 376 runs in 11 games, while with his bowling he took 11 wickets, contributing to helping his team make it to the final for the second consecutive season.In a recent interview, Naib was asked a tricky question about who he would prefer as a batting partner if his team needed 16 runs in the final over of a chase—Virat Kohli or Rohit Sharma.

Without hesitation, Naib picked Kohli, praising the former India captain’s immense talent and work ethic. “I will go with Virat Kohli. It is because of his talent. Even talking about his talent, I would consider myself useless compared to him,” Naib said, acknowledging Kohli’s exceptional abilities and character.

“Virat Kohli is one of the top players in the world right now,” he added, expressing his admiration for Kohli’s cricketing prowess and leadership. Gulbadin Naib said he would focus on giving Kohli as much strike as possible because he believes there is a lot to learn just by watching him in action.

“I’d consider myself lucky to chase 16 runs with Virat bhai. I’ll try to give him strike because you can learn a lot by watching him,” Gulbadin Naib said, speaking to the experience he’d gain from playing with such an accomplished player.

Dubai Capitals will face Desert Vipers in a thrilling final of the third edition of the DP World ILT20, as it nears its conclusion on Sunday, February 9. As of now, the Capitals are pretty confident, having won three matches against Vipers this season.
