Happy Independence Day: Twitter reactions of Indian cricketers

On August 15, 1947, India gained independence from the British reign. Today, the whole nation is celebrating their 72nd Independence Day. Like other Indians, cricketers are also celebrating this proudest moment and here are some of Twitter reactions of Indian cricketers for this special day.

Limited-overs vice-captain Rohit Sharma posted, “Mera Bharat Mahan! Let’s cherish our freedom and hold a special place in our hearts for those who laid their lives down for us to see this day. Jai hind #HappyIndependenceDay”

Test vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane wrote, “On this day I salute all those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom. Jai Hind! #HappyIndependenceDay!”

Legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar posted, “Everything in life is hard-earned. Just like our independence. Among countless other things, there would have been no ‘Team India’ if not for the sacrifice of our brave freedom fighters. Let us not take that freedom for granted. #HappyIndependenceDay”
