Shubman Gill, who has played 32 Tests and scored nearly 1900 runs, will face his first big test as skipper in the upcoming five-match series against England. India will begin their World Test Championship cycle with matches at Headingley, Edgbaston, Lord’s, Old Trafford, and The Oval — venues where conditions often favour swing and seam bowling.

While the task is tough, Harbhajan Singh is optimistic. “It’s a young side, but it’s a team with strength — a ‘dum waali team’. I hope India can make a mark in England once again,” he added.
