Each and every time a new Indian player makes it to the national squad wishes get poured in from the cricket fraternity on social media. This time it was the turn of Punjab fast bowler, Siddharth Kaul earned a call-up to the Indian ODI squad, that is to play three ODIs against Sri Lanka.
Siddharth, a member of the U-19 World Cup winning team under the captaincy of Virat Kohli, got the call to the national squad on the back of some phenomenal performances in the domestic tournaments for a year or two. In 50 first-class games, Kaul has picked 175 wickets.
His Punjab teammate and India’s ace spinner Harbhajan Singh congratulated the youngster for making it to the Indian squad. He tweeted, “Congratulations my brother @sidkaul22 for getting selected for team INDIA ?? @BCCI keep it up.. very happy for you.. All the best ?.”

This year, Kaul has only appeared in two first-class matches but has scalped eight wickets. He had a successful series against New Zealand A, where he got six wickets in two matches.
