The Indian Test captain, Virat Kohli has often been considered one of the greatest batters of modern-day cricket. He has scored 70 centuries in Test cricket already and he averages over 50 in all 3 formats of the game. Lauding the Indian stalwart, former spinner, Harbhajan Singh praises the aggressive approach of Virat Kohli. Harbhajan also added that under Kohli, the Indian side always looks to win each and every Test match.

During a recent chat with Hindustan Times, Harbhajan Singh said, “It suits perfectly actually and we need players like him in the team to can take the team forward. When the team used to go to Australia, they used to think about how to save the Test match. In Virat’s captaincy, the team goes to Australia thinking how they can win the Test series.”

Harbhajan Singh also added that the Indian Test team has beaten Australia in their own backyard on back-to-back tours while they also played extremely well in England under the captaincy of Virat Kohli. 

Adding that Kohli has played his role as the leader to perfection, Harbhajan Singh concluded by stating that if Kohli had been soft like MS Dhoni, the 33-year-old would not have scored such a huge amount of runs that he has in his career.

Elaborating the same, Harbhajan Singh said, “And that is the change you have noticed in this Indian side. They went to Australia and beat them twice, they played well in England and I hope they beat South Africa in this series. So Kohli has perfectly played his role as a leader. And the aggressive approach, that has made Virat Kohli the player he is today. Had he been soft like MS Dhoni, I don’t think he would have scored these many runs.”
