On Monday, a state minister in Chandigarh revealed that veteran Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh offered to voluntarily promote the Punjab government’s ‘Tandarust Punjab Mission’.

Punjab Sports Minister Rana Gurmit Singh Sodhi lauded the veteran spinner for offering to contribute towards promoting health and fitness in the state under the government’s flagship mission. Popularly known as ‘Bhajji’, Singh had a meeting with the minister in Chandigarh and expressed his willingness to participate in the campaign.

Sodhi asked Singh to leverage his appeal with youngsters in supporting the state government drive to eradicate drug menace from Punjab.

Replying to the same, Singh said, “It is Punjab’s good luck that a sportsman like Rana Sodhi is at the helm of affairs. Being an athlete, Sodhi knows the needs of a sportsperson, which is the best thing for the sporting ecosystem to evolve.”

Recently, Bhajji was seen in the wrestling ring of Continental Wrestling Entertainment (CWE), which is a wrestling entertainment company. The Great Khali, who owns this company invited Harbhajan to the ring. This is not the first time Harbhajan is involved in the promotion of wrestling entertainment in the country. He was also a part of the TNA_backed ‘Ring Ka King’which took place in India in 2012.

Despite the fact that Harbhajan is no more in consideration for the national squad, he will always remain as one of the all-time greats of the Indian cricket history. Recently, while talking about his future and retirement plans, Harbhajan revealed that he doesn’t want to retire right now and wishes to continue playing. He said, “I don’t want to retire now and just to want to continue playing for my fans.”
