Former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh was left baffled after an AI-generated image of him with a child, claimed to be his son Jovan Veer Singh Plaha, went viral on social media. The picture, which appeared on a Facebook page named Masti Musti, showed Harbhajan holding a young boy with a cake that read “4th Birthday Jovan Veer.”

However, the former cricketer was quick to call out the fake post, asking humorously, “Whose son is this AI?” The incident unfolded on October 27, when the publication used artificial intelligence to generate a birthday post for Harbhajan’s son. Fans initially joined in the wishes, unaware that the photo was digitally fabricated.

Harbhajan Singh later shared a screenshot of the viral post, clarifying that the child in the image wasn’t his. The mix-up sparked conversations online about AI’s growing misuse in celebrity content and the importance of fact-checking before posting.

Harbhajan, fondly called the Turbanator for his fiery spin bowling, has often shared glimpses of his family life with his wife, actress Geeta Basra, and their two children. The couple tied the knot on October 29, 2015, and welcomed their daughter Hinaya Heer Plaha on July 27, 2016. Their son Jovan Veer was born on July 10, 2021.

The AI-generated image not only used the wrong child’s picture but also got the birth date incorrect—adding to Harbhajan’s amusement and disbelief.

Back in 2021, the couple had joyfully announced Jovan’s arrival on Instagram, with Basra writing, “We thank the Almighty for blessing us with a healthy baby boy… overwhelmed with joy and gratitude for all the love and support.”

Harbhajan retired from all forms of cricket later that same year, concluding a stellar career that spanned over two decades. He represented India in 103 Tests, 236 ODIs, and 28 T20Is, taking a combined 601 international wickets. In the IPL, he played for Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, and Kolkata Knight Riders, winning four titles across his career.
