Harbhajan Singh Calls Symonds A “Good Fiction Writer” On Apology Incident

In a recent documentary, the former Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds revealed that the Indian off-spinner Harbhajan Singh apologised to him at later for the big controversial “Monkeygate” incident during the 2008 Sydney Test. In reply, Harbhajan totally denied the entire emotionally apology incident and called him a “good fiction writer”.

Recently, Symonds revealed that during the IPL 2011, when both were teammates for Mumbai Indians, emotional Harbhajan took apologise to him in private for the “Monkeygate” incident. The Aussie all-rounder further added that he gave him a hug and consoled him.

Talking about that incident, Symonds told in Fox Cricket documentary, named Monkeygate — Ten Years On, “We go to a very wealthy man’s place for a barbecue, drinks and dinner one night and the whole team’s there and he had guests there, and Harbhajan said ‘mate, can I speak to you for a minute out in the garden out the front’.

“He goes, ‘look, I’ve got to say sorry to you for what I did to you in Sydney. I apologise, I hope I didn’t cause you, your family, your friends too much harm and I really apologise for what I said, I shouldn’t have said it’.

“And he actually broke down crying, and I could just see that was a huge weight off his shoulders, he had to get rid of it. We shook hands and I gave him a hug and said: ‘Mate, it’s all good. It’s dealt with’.”

After knowing it, Harbhajan quickly clarified about that apology news where he felt hugely surprised.

On his official Twitter account, Harbhajan posted, “WHEN DID THAT HAPPEN ??? BROKE DOWN ???? WHAT FOR ??? Harbhajan broke down when apologising for ‘monkeygate’ – Symonds”

Later, the Indian off-spinner remarked Symonds as a “good fiction writer” and told him to grow up.

Harbhajan later wrote on his official Twitter account, “I thought he was a very good cricketer but Symonds has turned out to be a good fiction writer – he sold a story then (2008) and he is ‘selling a story’ now (2018). Mate, the world has come of age in these 10 years and it’s time you also grew up”

In between this period, the former Caribbean pacer Tino Best took a dig on Harbhajan and remarked him as “the cockiness”.

Through his official Twitter account, the 37-year-old former West Indies pacer Tino Best replied Harbhajan, “No remorse still. the cockiness”

In reply, Harbhajan posted, “Who is this ??? Guys this guy looking for attention.. does anyone know who he is ??”
