The fan later shared the heartening moment on social media, expressing gratitude to Pandya with a caption that read, “Met my idol in Hyderabad, Thank you, Hardik Pandya.”

Having made his IPL debut with Mumbai Indians in 2015, Pandya briefly departed to join Gujarat Titans in 2022 before rejoining his former team for the ongoing season, this time as its captain. However, Pandya’s return hasn’t translated into immediate success for Mumbai Indians, as they find themselves languishing at the second-last spot in the points table, having lost both of their initial matches.

In their season opener against Gujarat Titans, Mumbai Indians fell short by just 6 runs in their chase of 168. Despite an improved batting display in the subsequent match against Sunrisers Hyderabad, where they amassed 246 runs in response to a daunting target of 277, Mumbai Indians couldn’t secure a win.

Looking ahead, Mumbai Indians aim to reverse their fortunes when they face Rajasthan Royals at Wankhede Stadium on April 1. As Pandya seeks to lead his team to victory, fans eagerly anticipate a turnaround in Mumbai Indians’ IPL 2024 campaign under his captaincy.
