Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya is making significant progress in his recovery as he gears up for India’s clash against England in the ICC World Cup 2023 on Sunday. Reports suggest that Pandya has resumed batting in the nets and is back in the gym. Hardik Pandya is currently training at the NCA in Bengaluru. He had his first net session on Friday since his injury during the match against Bangladesh.
During this session, he batted without pads and faced a throwdown specialist for about 15 minutes. On Saturday, Pandya had a full net session, spending around 30 minutes in the nets where he looked comfortable while facing the bowling machine. He then spent an additional 20 minutes in the gym.

Despite his recovery progress, Hardik Pandya will not be available for the game against England on Sunday. His participation in the clash against Sri Lanka in Mumbai is also in doubt. Pandya is likely to rejoin the team in Kolkata ahead of the match against South Africa.
The Indian team management is being cautious and not rushing Pandya back into the playing XI. They want him to regain full fitness and pass all fitness tests. This cautious approach is influenced by India’s comfortable position in the points table.

In Hardik Pandya’s absence, Suryakumar Yadav made it to the team for the match against New Zealand. While he was unfortunately run out for just 2 runs, Suryakumar is expected to continue in the lineup for the upcoming game against England. India, in their current form, is likely to stick with the same combination against England. They have won all five of their games in the ICC World Cup 2023. The much-anticipated match against the defending champions is scheduled for Sunday.
