India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been going through a purple patch and his all-round performance in the first T20I match against England on Thursday in Southampton helped India win. Hadik hit a fifty and claimed a 4-wicket haul as India beat England by 50 runs to go 1-0 up in the 3-match T20I series as well.

However, Hardik Pandya became the first Indian cricketer to hit a fifty and pick up 4 wickets in a T20I match as he continued his resurgent run in the ongoing season as well. He hit a maximum and 6 boundaries and picked up the wickets of Jason Roy, Liam Livingstone, Dawid Malan, and Sam Curran as England were bundled out for 148, chasing 199 at the Ageas Bowl as well.

“My mindset doesn’t take me too high, nor low. I have learned to live neutral in life. Today was a good day, tomorrow can be bad but life moves on, so keep laughing and do your hard work.” Hardik Pandya said after India’s victory on Thursday.

However, Hardik Pandya credited his family — his wife Natasa Stankovic and brother Krunal Pandya and sister-in-law Pankuri Sharma – for being huge pillars of support in his life, saying that his family keep him focused as well.

“Clarity has always been there in my life. Whenever I felt that there is no clarity in my life, I always take time off and try to identify and rectify it. I don’t like things to do in a hurry. Leave batting and bowling, in general life, clarity is important. For me, my support system is very strong. My family is very important to me. That also brings clarity. When I am a little confused there is Krunal, my sister-in-law, and my wife is there. Such a strong bonding we share that if I deviate a little they kind of bring me back,” Hardik Pandya concluded.
