Hardik Pandya is not that great with the ball while the first T20I between India and Bangladesh on October 6 is being played at New Madhavrao Scindia Cricket Stadium in Gwalior. Pandya remained wicketless for the first three overs but cleaned up Bangladesh’s Shoriful Islam off the last over of the innings – the 18th over.

Pandya again proved himself as a bowling artist under pressure by bowling important overs for India this year in the T20 World Cup. His last over was so neat because he gave just 3 runs and took that crucial wicket. Shoriful Islam tried to go back and step into the corridor of uncertainty to play Pandya’s full-length delivery, and he completely missed it and his stumps were shattered.

Hardik Pandya concluded his spell with a bowling figures of 1 for 26 as he aided the restrictions on Bangladesh to a relatively small total of 127 runs. The visitors did not have too much of a hold on their innings at any point of time following being asked to bat first on a tricky day game. They lost early wickets during the powerplay, that put them back on heels, and by the 10th over, they were reduced to 57/5.

It was Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who possibly stands out as the shining star for Bangladesh, who reached a reasonably respectable score with his unbeaten 35. But it was the bowling of India, especially, who did most of the restricting work against Bangladesh.
