Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya has been going through a great form, especially in the ongoing ODI series against Australia. People sitting in the stands were overjoyed when he smashed a six to the Aussies.
However, one of the big sixes of Pandya turned out to be the biggest nightmare for a 24-year-old cricket fan named Tosit Agarwal who was cheering for the Indian Cricket Team in Bangalore. One of the sixes smashed by Hardik hit Tosit on his face and he got injured and further went to get some stitches.
While chasing a huge target of 335 runs, the men in blue had a brilliant start where both the openers Rohit Sharma and Ajinkya Rahane came out with all guns blazing. Despite the opening partnership of more than 100 runs, India lost the match by 21 runs. Pandya played entertaining innings of 41 run innings which included 3 sixes and one four. And one of these 3 sixes went on to hit Tosit who was present at the P1 stand of the stadium.
According to the PTI reports, right after being hit, he was taken to the medical centre in the stadium where first aid was given. He was later taken to HOSMAT hospital where his wounds were stitched.
Later, the vice-president, HOSMAT Hospital, Ajit Benedict Royan, said in a statement, ”He got a cut just below his lower lip, lower teeth, and his tongue.”
After losing the fourth ODI, the equation is down to 3-1 in India’s favor and with the final ODI to be played in Nagpur on October 1. After this ODI series, both the teams will lock horns for a 3-match T20I series which will start from October 7 and the first game will be played in Ranchi.
