During the 2nd ODI of the 5-match series between India and Australia in Kolkata, a big accident took place.
Nathan Coulter Nile was bowling in the 47th over of the innings to Bhuvneshwar Kumar and the batsman tried to smash the fourth ball of the over in front of the wicket, but the ball went straight to Pandya’s helmet. The shot was so hard that Hardik could not save himself and the ball started going straight to the helmet grill.
As soon as the ball struck Pandya’s helmet, he immediately fell on the ground. But Pandya was so conscious that after falling on the ground he first thought of getting back to the crease.
But seeing the injury, the bowler Colter Nile and the umpire approached towards Pandya. Being in the last stages of the match, Pandya decided to stay on the field and scored 20 runs off 35 balls.
