Since the retirement of the legendary Kapil Dev, Team India has found themselves short of a good fast-bowling all-rounder. He had set the standards unbelievably high as none of the players have managed to match them. Current India all-rounder Hardik Pandya has shown some glimpse. Kapil himself had praised the all-rounder when he produced a counter-attacking knock in the recently concluded Test series against South Africa.

Pandya was firstly seen in the IPL when he was picked by Mumbai Indians (MI). Pandya showed a lot of valor in his first season of the IPL itself with his powerful hitting abilities. He won a number of games for his franchise side who eventually had retained the player during the retention program for the 11th edition of the IPL.

Nita Ambani, the owner for MI recently talked about the Pandya brothers in the Indian Today conclave in Mumbai. She said that the two brothers have come a long way now. She mentioned how the two defied all the odds to reach where they have reached, despite coming from a humble background. She while speaking mentioned how the two of them would travel a long distance to play a game so that they can earn some money. She said that the two would even travel without tickets as they had no money to buy tickets.
