Hardik Pandya, one of India’s most influential all-rounders, has issued a strong and heartfelt statement condemning the paparazzi for clicking “cheap” and intrusive photos of his girlfriend, Mahieka Sharma. While Pandya admitted he has long accepted the constant glare of public attention, he made it clear that no woman should be subjected to disrespectful photography that crosses personal boundaries.

Two years after his separation from Natasa Stankovic, Pandya publicly confirmed his relationship with model Mahieka Sharma on October 10. The couple has since shared glimpses of their life, but the recent incident pushed Pandya to draw a firm line.
“I understand that living in the public eye comes with attention and scrutiny; it’s part of the life I’ve chosen. But today, something happened that crossed a line,” Hardik Pandya wrote on Instagram.

He explained that Mahieka was simply walking down a staircase at a Bandra restaurant when photographers captured her from an “angle no woman deserves to be photographed from,” turning a normal moment into tabloid sensationalism. “This isn’t about headlines… it’s about basic respect. Women deserve dignity. Everyone deserves boundaries,” he added.

Pandya also addressed the media fraternity with balanced clarity, acknowledging their daily grind while requesting sensitivity. “I respect your hustle… but please be a little more mindful. Not everything needs to be captured. Not every angle needs to be taken. Let’s keep some humanity in this game.”
Meanwhile, on the cricket front, Pandya’s comeback is gaining momentum. After spending weeks rehabilitating a quadriceps injury suffered during the Asia Cup, he returned to competitive action in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and is set to feature in the first T20I against South Africa in Cuttack on December 9.
