In a hilarious incident, a man named Hardik Pandya mistakenly received an email for check-in to the hotel room where Team India are staying ahead of the upcoming ODI World Cup 2023. The Indian cricket team reached Guwahati in Assam, to play the scheduled warm-up games in a bid to give their finish touch to their preparations for the marquee event.
As part of the usual ritual, teams after landing at the airport, move swiftly to check in to their allotted accommodation arranged by the Board for Control of Cricket in India (BCCI). Consequently, players are sent emails by top hotel chains regarding their check-in details which assist in a smooth transition to their respective rooms.
However, in this incident, the man named Hardik Pandya, who is not associated with the Indian cricket team, mistakenly received the email for check-in to the hotel room where Team India are staying. The user took to his social media account to share about the incident and clarify to the hotel chain that he has no plans of flying down to Guwahati to avail of the cheeky fan moment.
This triggered the Indian cricket aficionados to share their hilarious and concerning reactions in response to the user’s tweet. Some fans took the incident lightly and joked about how the man could have easily snuck into the hotel and posed as the real Hardik Pandya.
Others were more concerned about the security of the Indian team and wondered how such a mistake could have happened. The BCCI has not yet commented on the incident. However, it is a reminder of the importance of security for the Indian cricket team, especially during major tournaments like the World Cup.

its a data privacy issue at hotel’s end. Somehow, the hotel has leaked the information of Hardik’s stay.

A fun exercise would be to make an NFT of the screenshot of the mail, and charge every news outlet that’s going to splash this photo on their websites if this tweet goes viral 🙂

Check-in? Tomorrow (28-09-2023).
I have no plans to fly to Guwahati tomorrow.

Doesn’t the richest cricket board have their own email domain?
