Buttler, who wasn’t added for the T20Is as well, is on the journey to recover from the calf injury he had sustained earlier. Buttler’s injury has also opened the doors for another player Liam Livingstone to return to the ODI set-up after being ignored earlier as well. The veteran allrounder has been rewarded after claiming five wickets in the ongoing T20I series so far apart from smashing 87 off just 47 balls in the second T20I as well.

Jos Buttler, who hasn’t played since the T20 World Cup semifinal against India in late July as well, will now have to wait to get back in action. However, he will target a return to the squad for their tour of the Caribbean in November as well. Brook, who led England in an Under-19 World Cup in 2018, was recently Ollie Pope’s deputy as well in the Test series against Sri Lanka where Ben Stokes was not playing.
