England’s white-ball captain Harry Brook has hinted at a possible return to the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the future, despite previously making it clear that international cricket and The Hundred would remain his priorities. Brook said the IPL is a competition that helps players improve and admitted he would consider entering the auction again when the opportunity arises.

Brook was banned from the IPL until 2027 under BCCI rules after withdrawing from the 2025 season following his selection at the auction. Since taking over as England’s white-ball captain, the batter has repeatedly stressed his commitment to national duty and said he wanted to focus primarily on playing for England and The Hundred.

Speaking to Cricinfo during the 2026 Hundred season, Harry Brook reiterated that representing England remains his immediate priority. “Who knows what the future holds, but yeah, and like I said, I’m completely focused on playing as much cricket as I possibly can for England, and that is my one and only priority at the moment,” Brook said.

However, the 27-year-old left the door open for a future IPL comeback, praising the tournament’s quality and the experience it offers international players.

“Yeah, definitely. The IPL is a great competition, and it’s a great experience, and you go over there, you leave a better player. It’s a very good competition to be a part of, and it’s something that I’ll definitely think about in the future,” he added.

Brook has previously represented Sunrisers Hyderabad in the IPL and remains part of the Sunrisers setup in England’s domestic competition. The franchise’s owners have taken control of the Northern Superchargers and rebranded the Hundred side as Sunrisers Leeds.

Harry Brook acknowledged that the change in ownership has brought a different feel to the team, including a stronger Sunrisers identity around the venue. However, he stressed that the players’ focus remains on building relationships quickly and delivering results on the field. “It’s always going to be a little bit of change, obviously, with new owners, and there’s a lot more orange around the ground now,” Brook said.

For now, Brook remains firmly focused on England cricket, but his latest comments suggest the IPL could once again become part of his career plans once his international commitments and BCCI suspension allow it.
