The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) are gearing up to face the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the first qualifier of the IPL on Tuesday. As anticipation builds for this pivotal match, a notable message of support has come from Bayern Munich’s star striker, Harry Kane. Despite his personal success on the field, Kane’s first season with Bayern Munich has been somewhat bittersweet.

In a video shared by KKR on X, the English forward expressed his encouragement: “Hey Kolkata Knight Riders, great start to the season. Wishing all the Knights the very best for the remainder of the season. Sending our support from F.C Bayern Munich.”

The former Tottenham Hotspur player delivered an impressive performance with 45 appearances, 44 goals, and 12 assists. However, Bayern Munich, a club renowned for its consistent triumphs, experienced a rare setback by concluding the season without any trophies, a situation not seen since the 2001/02 season.

Looking ahead, Harry Kane is set to rejoin the England national team for two friendlies against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Iceland, as part of the preparations for the 2024 Euros in Germany. This upcoming tournament will be another chance for German fans to witness Kane’s prowess.

Adding to the excitement surrounding the qualifier, KKR’s co-owner, Bollywood megastar Shah Rukh Khan, will be present to cheer on his team. Social media buzzed on Monday with images of Shah Rukh Khan travelling to Ahmedabad with his son AbRam, shortly after casting his vote in Mumbai.

KKR has shown remarkable form throughout the 2024 IPL season, losing only 3 out of 14 matches. This stellar performance secured their top position in the league standings, setting up this crucial face-off against SRH.

The winner of Tuesday’s match will secure a direct berth in the finals, scheduled for Sunday. The losing team, however, will still have a shot at the finals by competing in the second qualifier, where they will meet the victor of the Eliminator match between the Rajasthan Royals (RR) and the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB).
