The outbreak of Coronavirus has some adverse effects on India and its people, like many other countries, as well. The country has been going through a lockdown since March 24 in a bid to control the transmission of the virus. However, the discovery of the new epicenter of the Coronavirus – the six-story building of the Tablighi Jamaat – called a Markaz has stunned everyone.
Around 3,400 came together for a religious gathering at the Nizamuddin Markaz on March 13. The event took place despite the fact that the Delhi government had clarified that no religious or social or even political gatherings of more than 200 people will be allowed. The officials have searched thousands of people, including the foreigners, who attended the gathering and then went to their respective states, after some of them in the gathering were tested positive for the Coronavirus.

This has caused a ruckus across the country as many are criticizing after the event went ahead even after an order from the Delhi Government. While the former India cricketer Gautam Gambhir also requested the people to stay at home and follow the Government’s orders strictly, the renowned commentator Harsha Bhogle made an appeal to the Indian people to take all the necessary steps and avoid the incidents like what happened at the Nizamuddin Markaz.
In his tweet, Harsha wrote, “For the next few weeks, let us make our larger community and its welfare the only thing to adhere to. If we prevent this virus from multiplying, it will make us so much stronger. We cannot afford more Nizamuddins.”

However, to avoid controversy, Bhogle deleted the tweet and replaced ‘Nizamuddins’ with ‘them’ only to save himself from the wrath for the same. His new tweet read: “For the next few weeks, let us make our larger community and its welfare the only thing to adhere to. If we prevent this virus from multiplying, it will make us so much stronger. Please stay away from mass gatherings. We cannot afford them.”
Here’s Harsha Bhogle’s new tweet:
For the next few weeks, let us make our larger community and its welfare the only thing to adhere to. If we prevent this virus from multiplying, it will make us so much stronger. Please stay away from mass gatherings. We cannot afford them.

Moreover, Harsha Also clarified that his previous tweet was finger-pointing to a particular event and his only intention was to highlight that everyone should avoid mass gatherings. However, Twitterati didn’t like him deleting his earlier tweet and bashed him for the same.
Here’s his clarification tweet:
My tweet was leading to finger-pointing which dismays me. My intention was to highlight the fact that we cannot afford more mass gatherings.
