The ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 is around the corner and everyone, from cricket fans to experts, is looking upon it. The mega event will kick-off on May 30 when host England will take over South Africa. India’s campaign will start on June 5 against their African rivals. Team India has previously won two World Cup titles in 1983 and 2011 and they are already being termed as a pre-tournament favorite to win the cup.

Amidst, veteran sports journalist Harsha Bhogle named his 15-member Indian squad for the marquee event. He backed KL Rahul in the Indian side as a back-up opener along with Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan. Virat Kohli will be seen leading his side, while he named Ambati Rayudu and Kedar Jadhav.

MS Dhoni will do the keeping duties and Dinesh Karthik is named his deputy for the tournament. Surprisingly, Bhogle dropped Rishabh Pant from his team. The fast-bowling arsenal features Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami. The talented left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmad is missing from this team, which Bhogle picked in a video of Cricbuzz.

Picking up the spinners was not a headache for the 57-year-old as he named deadly spin duo of Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav in the team. The all-rounder’s slot is been filled by Hardik Pandya and Ravindra Jadeja. Pandya is expected to play a big role in team India’s quest to win the ICC World Cup 2019.
