Team India has pretty tight fixtures in the upcoming months of the season. They will be playing the World Test Championship Final, the T20 World Cup, and completing the IPL 2021 tournament as well. Apart from that, the BCCI has decided to give some of the players a bit of rest for the white-ball tour of Sri Lanka. With that being said, the veteran Indian commentator Harsha Bhogle has now picked his ODI XI for the limited-overs tour to Sri Lanka.

With some of the stalwarts being rested for the tour, it is up to the white-ball specialists to deliver. Sri Lanka has not been in the best form in recent years. This makes it the perfect time for the Indian team to rest some of their stars and rather take it easy. That is what exactly they are looking to do.

Harsha Bhogle had picked Bhuvneshwar Kumar to lead the Sri Lankan team for the ODI series. He will have the responsibility of making this team fire and come back with a win. With that being said, the playing XI will need to be well-balanced. Shikhar Dhawan will be back in the team as a senior opener as well. This is exactly why Harsha Bhogle spoke to Sportskeeda and gave his best XI that he would play for that tour.

Though there are mostly expected players in Bhogle’s XI, the Pandya brothers were a rather surprising addition. Based on form, they both could have taken some more rest. Hardik and Krunal have been awful during the IPL 2021 tournament. Their lack of form has been one of the key reasons for MI’s inconsistency in teh suspended season of the IPL.

Suryakumar Yadav will once again be the main player in the Sri Lanka tour. He has been impressive so far at any stage that he has held the bat at. Another key player who will want to leave his mark is Kuldeep Yadav, who has been failing to do much for his team be it India or the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Keeping that in mind, it’s surprising to see Harsha Bhogle still believes in him and sees potential.

The other key mentions are opener Prithvi Shaw, keeper Sanju Samson, and Manish Pandey in the middle order. Harsha Bhogle had also added Yuzvendra Chahal and pacer Deepak Chahar will also be part of the squad.
