The 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has just finished where Gujarat Titans have won their maiden title that too on their debut season. And, famous commentator Harsha Bhogle has picked up his Best Playing XI of IPL 2022. He has formed this team while keeping in mind the performance on the league stage as well. In a conversation with Cricbuzz, Bhogle has selected Orange Cap winners Jos Buttler and KL Rahul as openers of his side. Buttler scored 629 runs in 14 matches of the league stage, while Rahul scored 537 runs as well.
He named Rahul Tripathi at number three, Hardik Pandya at number four and Liam Livingstone at number five as well. With 487 runs, Pandya remained at number four in the list of highest run-scorers as well. Apart from this, Livingstone scored 437 runs and Tripathi scored 413 runs too.
Harsha Bhogle has picked the all-rounder Andre Russell at number six. Russell has done well this season, scoring 335 runs as well as taking 17 wickets too. Dinesh Karthik has been chosen for the finisher’s role and wicket-keeper batter as well. Karthik scored 287 runs in 14 matches of the league stages which came at a strike rate of 191.33 and emerged as the best finisher of the season as well.
The veteran has chosen Kagiso Rabada, Jasprit Bumrah, Harshal Patel and Yuzvendra Chahal in the bowling department. Purple cap holder Yuzvendra Chahal took 27 wickets this season. Apart from this, Rabada took 23 wickets and Patel took 19 wickets as well. Meanwhile, Bumrah took 15 wickets as well.
